Taping is usefull in many situations. Specific types of tape can be use to restrain a joint or a muscle movement, for example when a person has had trauma or a surgery and needs to protect that bodily part and to recover. 
Also athletes who had injured but need to keep training, or that have to perform, can significantly benefit from the application of tape in order to do not agravate their health.
Some tapes have also an anti-inflammatory effect, they are use in both acute and chronic pain and they are considerably effective in promoting drainange when swelling or oedema is present.
Moreover, people who suffer from back pain, neck pain, tendinitis and any kind of structural ache, feel a great relief while the tape is applied and after its removal thanks to the decrease of the inflammation. 
Finally, tapes wonderfully works in correcting wrong posture and educationg muscles. People who have a sedentary life, who are sit in front of the computer for several hours or that do a job that limit the body in certain positions or movements, can use tape to modify their posture and to train their muscles to assume a healtier posture.

However, after removal of the tape it is advisable to take care of the skin using gentle soaps and rich body lotion. Shiatsu shouldn't be painful. However, the stimulation of some points and meridians, especially in presence of congestion and blocked energy, can be perceive as intense and unconfortable. You are free to stop me whenever you want and we can decide together the amount of pressure you prefer.
